Umaru Tanko Al-Makura
The Executive Governor Of Nassarawa StateA Graduate of Bachelor in Education,1975-1978
Al-makura was born around 1952 in Lafia, Nasarawa State. He attended Dunama Primary School, Lafia (1959-1966), Keffi Teacher's College (1967-1971) and then Government Teachers College of Education, Uyo (1972-75). For a short period in 1975 he was an Assistant Producer at the Broadcasting Corporation of Northern Nigeria. He then went to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1975-1978), graduating with a Bachelor of Education Degree. For his National Youth Service he was a teacher at the Government College, Markudi.
In 1978 he formed Almakura Nigeria Limited, importing and servicing agricultural and industrial machinery. Later he ventured into real estate and property development as owner and chairman of Ta'al Nigeria Limited, with properties in Abuja, Lagos, Kano and Washington DC, United States. He owns the Ta'al Lake Resort, Abuja and the Ta'al Conference Hotel, Lafia

Ibrahim Shekarau
Former Governor, Kano StateA Graduate of Mathematics Education,1973-1977
Shekarau was born in the Kurmawa quarters of Kano, the son of a police officer. He was educated at Gidan Makama Primary School (1961-1967), then at Kano Commercial College (1967-1973) and finally at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1973-1977) where he received a Degree in Mathematics Education
After finishing his Degree, he went into the civil service. Later on, he started his career as a Mathematics teacher at Government Technical College, Wudil in 1978. Two years later he became Principal at Government Day Junior Secondary School, Wudil. In 1980 he was transferred to Government Secondary School, Hadejia, then to Government College Birnin Kudu in 1986, then to Government Secondary School, Gwammaja and then to Rumfa College in March 1988, all as the school's principal. Some time after quitting his post as Chief Lecturer, he decided to work as a secretary to businessman Aminu Dantata. He was employed under Dantata until he became a contender in Kano State's 2003 gubernatorial elections.

Shehu Garba was born in Matazu, Matazu LGA of Katsina State. He was educated at Matazu LEA primary School (1968-74), then at Government Secondary School, Funtua, (1974-1979), College of Education, Kafanchan, 1981-1984 and finally Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna, 1986-88, where he received a Degree in Social Studies(B.ed). He also had his postgraduate programme in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he had his Masters degree programme and Doctorate degree programme in the year 1989-1992, 1992-1996 respectively. He was returned elected as a Honourable Member House of Representative from 1999-2003, where he held the position of Chairman, House Committee on Education
