The Long Vacation Training (LVT) programme was designed for Primary school teachers and other low cadre workers to enable acquire first degree. The program runs from July to October every year. Students are admitted into LVT I and LVT II respectively, pending on their NCE points or Diploma. Students with 7 points in NCE are admitted into LVT I while 8 points and above are admitted into LVT II; students with a pass Diploma from the Institute of Education are also admitted into LVT I.
The programme is a 5 and 6 year programme depending on the entry level and each level/contact runs a semester of the regular programme.
Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE), General Certificate in Education (GCE) Ordinary Level, National Examination Council (NECO), or National Board Board for Technical Education (NABTEB). Credit passes in at least five subjects, two of which MUST be in English language and Mathematics obtained in not more than two sittings.
