Educational Foundations and Curriculum

You are welcome to the Department of Educational Foundations and Curriculum (DEDUFC) heart beat of Faculty of Education in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. DEDUFC offers seven postgraduate programmes in Educational Administration and Planning, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Technology, Postgraduate Diploma in Education. The DEDUFC also offers general courses for other students to minor in Educational Administration and Planning, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Technology. Thus, DEDUFC is a unique place, beyond comparison, with other places in exploring fields of study that educate the whole of a person and give opportunities for careers that make a difference.

The distinctive characteristic of DEDUFC is its knowledge diversity. Students learn exciting courses and programmes in the curriculum of DEDUFC. Part of DEDUFC’s mission is prepare students for challenges of our educational system. This is recognition of the fact that nowadays is complex. This means the type of education society needs is the one that prepares students for challenges by ushering in creativity, flexibility and innovation in the courses of training the curricula of courses in DEDUFC are broad-based and responsive to the challenges of the twenty-first century. Thus DEDUFC prepares students for future leadership by giving them the best. Therefore, much is expected from products of DEDUFC because of the common adage that says from the generation much is given, much is expected.

DEDUFC is also committed to creating opportunities for students inside and outside classroom to prepare them towards becoming responsible citizens.
