B.Sc (Ed) Islamic Religious Studies

Admission Requirement:

Admission into our undergraduate program is annual. Applicants who took the UTME are admitted into 100 Level 4-year degree program provided they satisfy other requiremets:

Direct Entry:

Prospective candidates are expected to have a minimum of ‘C’ grade in Education and lslamic Studies and a minimum of ‘E’ grade in the third Teaching subject. A minimum of four (4) ‘0’ level passes at credit level including Islamic Studies is also required.

Diploma:

Prospective candidates with ABU Diploma in relevant Islamic Studies area with a minimum grade of Merit is acceptable, provided he/she has a minimum of five (5) ‘0’ level passes at Credit level including English and Islamic Studies.

I.J.M.B:

For this category of applicants, a minimum of ‘E’ grade in all the three subjects is acceptable provided he/she has a minimum of four (4) Credit passes at ‘0’ level including English and Islamic Studies.

U.T.M.E

This category of applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) ‘0’ level passes at Credit level in SSCE including Islamic Studies and English Language. Applicants within this category also include those who possess Teachers Grade II Certificate with minimum five (5) Credit passes including Islamic Studies and English Language; and SISE Certificate with minimum five (5) Credit passes including Islamic Studies and English Language are also acceptable.

Graduation Requirement:

A student must have obtained a minimum of 126 credit units to qualify for graduation.

All prescribed core, cognate and elective courses must have been passed.

.

Teaching practice must have been undertaken and passed, as this is also regarded as a core course.

The student must have obtained a CGPA of not less than 1.50.

Graduation Requirement:

For the award of B. Sc (Ed) in Agricultural Education, Students must earn at least 120 credits for those who start at 100 level. For those who start at 200 level must therefore earn 90 credit units. Students can take elective courses in addition to the core ones. However, they can graduate if they have earned the required number of credit units for graduation, and have passed all the core courses.
