B.Sc (Ed) Christian Religious Studies

Admission Requirement:

As prescribed in the university brochure on admission into the four year degree programme. Although, the nature of the CRS programme and popular demand would imply that what the faculty of Education designate “any other equivalent qualifications” would include certain categories of theological diplomas awarded by recognized universities, seminaries and Bible schools provided that the departmental stipulations on admissions are satisfied thereby.:

Direct Entry:

Candidates with NCE would be placed on 200 level provided they have a minimum of three credits in their ‘0’ level, one of which must be CRS. Candidates with Diploma in Christian Religious Education or Diploma in theology or equivalent awarded by recognized universities, seminaries or Bible schools provided that the Departmental stipulations on admission are satisfied (five credits in ‘0’ level of which CRS and English must be among the five), and a minimum of merit grade would be admitted into 200 level. IJMB applicants must have minimum of ‘E’ grade in all the three subjects before being acceptable provided they have minimum of four (4) Credit passes at ‘0’ level including English and CRS..

U.T.M.E:

Candidates who want to read B.Ed CRS must have five credits at SSSE, Grade 11 and or its equivalent. The five credits must include CRS and English before they could be admitted into 100 level. UME Subjects: English, CRK/S, any other two Arts or/and Social science subjects.

Graduation Requirement:

A student must have obtained a minimum of 126 credit units to qualify for graduation.

All prescribed core, cognate and elective courses must have been passed.

Teaching practice must have been undertaken and passed, as this is also regarded as a core course.

The student must have obtained a CGPA of not less than 1.50.
